Purpose and Objective:

SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Developer (multiple positions available) at our Palo Alto, CA location to design, develop, and operate scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise applications that drive business success.

Expectations and Tasks:

Ensures the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions through efficient, testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to continuously optimize application performance, security, and user experience. Design scalable, secure, and high-performing applications, leveraging tools and programming paradigms to write clean, maintainable and efficient code, and conducting code reviews. Develop, test, deploy or deliver, and maintain applications that meet business objectives and user needs, leveraging tools and programming paradigms to write clean, maintainable, well documented and efficient code, and conducting code reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design and cloud operations) to define, design, and ship new features. Optimize and automate the software delivery process, including automated testing at multiple level, to ensure that reliable can be delivered frequently. Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance applications to optimize performance, security, and resolve customer issues including root cause analysis and preventive actions. Provide application implementation services typically within the boundaries of specifications and project plans. Design activities include requirements analysis and design documentation. Implementation activities include error analysis and removal. Usually extends, modifies or adapts existing designs but may also be involved in the development of new (sub-)systems.

Qualifications

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must include three (3) years involving each of the following:

• Python, Java, or JavaScript;

• Designing and developing distributed microservices utilizing Java, Spring Boot, Node.js or Express.js, and Python;

• Designing and implementing enterprise micro-frontend platforms utilizing React.js, Angular, and TypeScript or JavaScript.

• Building secure enterprise integration systems connecting internal platforms with external services utilizing REST/GraphQL APIs, OAuth2 authentication, TLS encryption, and enterprise identity management;

• Operational management of AWS and Azure utilizing EC2, S3, RDS, and Terraform for scalable automated infrastructure deployment;

• Deployment and lifecycle management of containerized distributed services utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitHub Actions for resilient cloud runtime environments;

• Developing enterprise data persistence layers supporting hybrid relational databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL;

• Designing and developing workflow orchestration platforms enabling automated business processes with event-driven architectures using Kafka;

• Leading distribution of software platform delivery, including system architecture design, engineering planning, and code reviews; and

• Agile development frameworks to manage iterative delivery of distributed software systems, including sprint planning, system design, and development cycles.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $172,369 - $206,460. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $172,369 - $229,400. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
