Job summary

Job Title: Developer(Multiple Positions Available)

Purpose and Objective:

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Developer (multiple positions available) at our Palo Alto, CA location to design and develop robust cloud-native applications using the SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model. .

Expectations and Tasks:

Responsible for delivery of outcome of assigned sub projects. Work independently within given area of responsibility within defined policies and processes. Execute complex CDS/CQL data modeling for SAP HDI containers and package deployments using Cloud MTA build tools. Build seamless extensions using ABAP Cloud and facilitate real-time communication via SAP Event Mesh. Develop high-performance, scalable SAP Fiori applications using SAPUI5, featuring custom XML views, OData V4 binding, and SAP Cloud SDK integration. Architect and implement Generative AI workflows within SAP Build to automate complex business processes. Orchestrate distributed data processing via SAP Datasphere and deploy fine-tuned models to SAP AI Core using the SAP FedML library. Implement large-scale data pipelines using PySpark and Databricks, leveraging Apache Arrow Flight for high-speed, zero-copy data interoperability. Ensure rigorous data governance and privacy using SAP HANA Data Anonymization. Automate BTP infrastructure provisioning (Kyma/Cloud Foundry) using BTP CLI scripts to manage subaccounts, entitlements, and service instances. Lead hands-on Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) to benchmark distributed systems using JMeter. Design multi-region database replication strategies with PostgreSQL and validate horizontal scaling logic within cloud clusters.

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must involve three (3) years in the following:

Developing multi-tenant applications on SAP BTP using ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), and SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP);

Building SAP Fiori applications with SAPUI5 using OData V4 services from SAP Cloud SDK;

Implementing custom CDS annotations and CDS/CQL data modeling for SAP HANA HDI containers;

Implementing enterprise security using Principal Propagation with XSUAA, SAP Cloud Identity Services, and SAP Cloud Connector;

Managing deployments to Kyma and Cloud Foundry environments using Cloud MTA Build Tool, and automating BTP service entitlements using btp CLI;

Building enterprise data federation solutions using SAP Datasphere and leveraging SAP Federated Machine Learning (SAP FedML) library to deploy and orchestrate distributed machine learning models to SAP AI Core;

Developing integration flows using SAP Integration Suite including SAP API Management, SAP Event Mesh, and SAP Cloud Integration to establish event-driven connectivity across hybrid on-premise and cloud ERP systems;

Implementing semantic retrieval through SAP HANA Machine Learning, enforce data privacy using SAP HANA Data Anonymization, and automate business process workflows with SAP Build;

Experience must involve two (2) years in the following:

Developing low-latency streaming applications using Databricks with Delta Lake, leveraging the Apache Arrow Flight protocol for seamless cross-platform data integration across distributed data lakes; and

Developing scalable Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) to implement multi-region database replication with Apache Cassandra, load partitioning across cloud-based multi-node clusters, and benchmark distributed system performance using JMeter.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $172,369 - $206,460. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step towards demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $172,369 - $229,400. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
