Job summary

Method Flow Products Inc., a Roeslein company, seeks an Automation Technician I to install automation devices on oil field equipment, including transmitters, gauges, and controllers, while ensuring safety and quality. You will work both independently and in a team, communicating with the Automation Lead and customers to resolve issues efficiently.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in automation, proficiency in Word/Excel, and the ability to handle tools and wiring tasks.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record and be 21 years of age to drive a company truck.
  • Must have one to two years of experience in the automation field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Must meet deadlines while working safely to ensure a quality product.
  • Install automation devices on oil field equipment including pressure transmitters, level gauges, pneumatic valve controllers, meters, and ESD buttons.
  • Install steel piping stacks, gauges, conduit fittings, and run wiring, terminate into devices and junction boxes.

Position Summary

Method Flow Products, a Roeslein Company, is seeking an Automation Technician I. Method Flow is looking for an individual who has the desire to perform quality work in a safe manner, who is detail-oriented, and who has superior customer focus. This individual must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must meet deadlines while working safely to ensure a quality product.
  • Must be able to install automation devices on oil field equipment including pressure transmitters, level gauges, pneumatic valve controllers (Solenoids), gas/oil/water meters, and ESD buttons.
  • Skilled at the installation of steel piping stacks, gauges, and conduit fittings with the ability to cut and mount Unistrut. Pull wire, zip‑tie piping, place and fasten in cable tray, dig trenches, and run wire as needed. Terminate wire into devices and junction boxes.
  • Follow directions and ask questions, as necessary. Keep in constant communication with the Automation Lead and advise of any issues that need to be addressed.
  • Safely drive to customer locations and safely perform the required work.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of service tickets and timely submission.
  • Promote a positive working environment to achieve the organization’s goals.

  • Must follow training and company procedures.
  • Must be a leader who represents the organization with the ability to be a liaison to our customers, adhere to company standards, and resolve issues with urgency and professionalism.

  • Ability to effectively interact with co‑workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.

Knowledge / Skill / Ability / Education / Experience
  • A high school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred but not required.

  • Experience with different hand/power tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wire strippers, wrenches, drills, impact drivers, shovels, pick ax, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is required with a solid work ethic.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including overtime.
  • Must adhere to the Company’s attendance policy.
Work Environment

Work is performed in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for short periods is possible. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear. The ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. regularly is required. Exposure to moving parts and electricity that require safety protocols.
