Job summary

PlanetScale is hiring a Developer Educator to create technical content and help developers understand our Postgres, Vitess, and MySQL ecosystem. You will speak at conferences, refine documentation, and host livestreams to engage with our community.

The role involves educating customers and engineers, traveling 20-50% of the time, and building PlanetScale’s engineering community at events and online.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of engineering, solution architecture, technical education, or developer relations experience.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (Postgres or MySQL).
• Proven ability to create technical content (blog posts, tutorials, docs, speaking engagements).
• Experience speaking at conferences or hosting technical presentations and events.
• Willingness to travel between 20-50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Create technical content to help customers and engineers learn how Postgres, MySQL, Vitess, Neki, and the PlanetScale ecosystem works.
• Speak at conferences and events, representing PlanetScale in the database and engineering community.
• Create and refine product documentation.
• Host livestreams and webinars to educate our community.
• Travel to connect with developers at events worldwide (20-50%).
