Job summary

Dunbar Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Developer to design and deliver cloud-native platform services in an AWS environment. You will implement complex features, uphold quality, mentor developers, and use AI-assisted tooling through the SDLC.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in software development, strong AWS experience, and proficiency with modern languages, CI/CD, automated testing, and secure coding. Hybrid work (1–2 days) in Reston, VA, and client sites in the DC area are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex, cloud-native features and services on AWS.

• Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for complex solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and other stakeholders to meet project goals.

Job description

Summary

The Senior Developer builds and delivers core platform services in a cloud-native AWS environment. You will implement complex features, uphold code quality, mentor developers, and make effective use of AI-assisted development tooling across the SDLC.
The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and possess current hands-on software development experience with cloud-native development on AWS, modern languages and frameworks, CI/CD, automated testing, secure coding, and AI-assisted development tools. Required qualifications include 7+ years of software development experience; strong hands-on experience with cloud-native development on AWS; proficiency with modern languages/frameworks and CI/CD; and experience with automated testing and secure coding. The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen ; dual citizenship is not permitted, and the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance. Must be willing to work a HYBRID schedule (1-2 days) in Reston, VA and client locations in the Washington, D.C. area as required.
