Job summary

EssilorLuxottica is seeking a Developer to design, modify and maintain software across the company. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions and support production systems. Willingness for after-hours support is required.

The role covers a broad tech stack including .Net, Java, JavaScript, NodeJS, Ruby, C, C++, and C#, with database and cloud services. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this global environment.

Qualifications

• Computer Science degree or related experience or training.
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of software development best practices and modern languages.
• Experience with modern programming languages and open-source tech.
• Familiarity with secure computing environments and networks.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software components.
• Collaborate with Developers, QA, Product, Support, and stakeholders to craft solutions.
• Own full life-cycle development of software systems and provide tier 3+ support.
• Understand key LMS areas like Integrations and Equipment Interfaces.
• Avail for after-hours, weekend, and holidays as needed.

GENERAL FUNCTION

As a member of the Development team, the Developer plays an essential role in the development and maintenance of systems across the company.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knowledge of the tools and processes used by the team to deliver quality software
• Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications and components
• Work directly with Developers, QA, Product, Support, Implementation, Stakeholders, and Business owners to develop solutions to complex problems
• Responsible for the full life-cycle development of software systems
• Provide tier 3+ support to in-group and out-of-group customers as well as make safe changes to production systems (OS, database, and application)
• Gaining deep understanding of one or more key functional LMS areas (i.e. Integrations, Calculations, Equipment Interfaces)
• Availability for after hours, weekend, and holidays support based on needs of the team and customers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Computer Science degree or 1 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Knowledge of modern programming languages, platforms, and open-source technologies
• Knowledge of infrastructure technologies and secure computing environments: network, hardware and operating systems, servers, and storage
• Communication & Influencing: Must clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message. An individual with excellent interpersonal skills and influencing ability who can win the confidence of individuals at all levels, both inside and outside of the organization. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Teamwork: An individual who can work effectively in a collaborative environment and foster teamwork across all levels of the organization.

Pay Range: 75,434.33 - 110,130.67

This posting is for an existing vacancy within our business. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
