Job summary

Motive Workforce is seeking a Detox Technician in Riverside, California for part-time, full-time graveyard, or swing shift roles. This position supports clients in daily programming, conducts rounds, and documents in KIPU following state protocols.

The ideal candidate maintains strong listening skills, communicates safety concerns promptly, and assists with intake, discharge, and group activities while keeping logs and ensuring a clean, safe living environment.

Qualifications

  • CPR and First Aid certification must be current.
  • TB skin test and health screen must be up to date.
  • Positive teamwork and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client rounds per state protocols and document in KIPU.
  • Support daily programming needs and communicate with team.
  • Listen actively to clients and relay needs to treatment team.
  • Note safety concerns and report to nursing/leadership promptly.
  • Complete intake and discharge processes per policy.
  • Maintain client and property logs; assist with bed changes and cleanliness.

Job Description - Detox Technician
  • Conduct client rounds according to state protocols and document appropriately in KIPU (includes evaluating the rise and fall of the chest to ensure breathing and documenting what side the client is laying on and being as descriptive as possible).
  • Support clients in daily programming needs and communicate with clinical and operations team members regarding client needs and observed interactions.
  • Demonstrate strong listening skills and allow clients to fully convey their needs so that they may be clearly relayed to the treatment team.
  • Communicate with nursing and leadership any client safety concerns, relapses, suspicion of use, active Suicidal Ideation or situations that could put the integrity of community in jeopardy.
  • Complete intake process according to company's policies and procedures (includes search and UA, vitals, appropriate assessments, belongings searches, consents, and releases).
  • Complete discharge process according to the company's policies and procedures (includes making sure clients leave with ALL personal belongings, phone, property box items, completing perception of care and client outcome surveys, and all documents are signed upon departure).
  • Complete bed flips when clients discharge or move rooms (includes stripping old bedding, making sure new bedding has mattress cover, fitted sheet, flat sheet, comforter, duvet cover, pillow protector, and pillow case, completing laundry for old bedding, and replacing items back into assigned bed bag).
  • Maintaining house cleanliness by making sure all surfaces are wiped down, dishes are cleaned, floors are swept, mopped, and/or vacuumed, deck areas are free of debris, bathrooms are cleaned, and trash is taken out before the end of shift (includes signing cleaning logs if applicable).
  • Make sure clients are woken up for medications, and attending groups on time.
  • Assist, teach, and/or supervise clients with general household chores such as making their beds, keeping food and dishes in appropriate areas, double scrub, and belongings kept in orderly fashion.
  • Maintain client logs (property check out logs, money logs, drug testing and medication logs).
  • Fill out appropriate phone check in/out logs, checking email first, and respond to email thread accordingly with details.
  • Assist medical in collecting assigned UA samples for the day.
  • Assist in leading groups in compliance with group schedule and complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
TEAM WORK:
  • Support fellow co-workers and aid in completion of tasks when team members require assistance.
  • Arrive to work on time for shift change so that other shifts may provide reports and complete end of shift tasks and transition out in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties wherever necessary when assistance is needed.
  • Make appropriate arrangements for scheduled time-off and notify lead and supervisor in advance.
  • Consistently complete assigned tasks for each shift and communicate effectively when tasks are left incomplete.
  • Completion of notes and EOSR in a timely and efficient manner ensuring concise and accurate information is conveyed.
  • Maintain professional attire when at work in compliance with company's policies and procedures for dress code.
