Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of work experience in active-duty military, detention/corrections, or law enforcement.
• Alternatively, 1 year of civilian security with related degree may qualify.
• Must provide proof of citizenship or legal US work authorization.
• If former military, provide DD214 showing discharge status.
• Must consent to fingerprinting.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Clear criminal background check and security screening.
• Ability to pass a preemployment medical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patrols of housing units, common areas, and specialized wings.
• Monitor and control resident movement between housing, medical, and recreational areas.
• Operate and monitor security equipment and radios for constant awareness.
• Respond to emergencies, disturbances, or security breaches with de‑escalation techniques.
• Search resident living quarters and areas for contraband per protocols.
• Manage intake and release processing and secure storage of personal property.
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents and shift activities.
• Maintain proficiency with center safety equipment and incident protocols.
• Collaborate with medical staff and other officers to maintain a secure environment.
