Job summary

Curry County, NM is hiring a Detention Officer to maintain inmate security at the Curry County Adult Detention Center. You will be responsible for enforcing rules, preventing escapes, and escorting inmates under supervision.

The role requires the ability to work under stress, pass a background check, and complete a pre-employment drug screen; English literacy is essential, and some prior detention experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED certificate; two (2) years applicable experience is desired but not required.
• One (1) year experience in detention work; knowledge of laws and policies helpful but not required.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English; bi-lingual helpful but not required.
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.
