Job summary

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for a full-time Detention Officer position in Fulton, Missouri. The starting salary is $44,000 annually ($21.15 hourly) and includes a comprehensive benefits package with health insurance, retirement programs, life insurance, and paid time off.

This role requires monitoring inmates, enforcing jail rules, processing bookings and releases, and escorting inmates to and from court. The jail operates 24/6 with two shifts.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma.
• Applicant must be at least 19 years of age.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass pre-employment criminal background screening.
• Must pass pre-employment written, typing, and polygraph tests.
• Applicant must complete CCSO application.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and interacts with inmates.
• Maintains an awareness and understanding of the Jail’s requirements, laws, rules, processes, and procedures to sustain a safe environment for staff and inmates.
• Reviews inmate records and takes report from outgoing shift.
• Books and releases inmates as appropriate, ensuring all paperwork requirements, laws, processes, and procedures are followed.
• Shackles and escorts inmates to and from court.
