Job summary

Banks County Sheriff’s Office is hiring a Detention Officer to protect life and property and manage the daily operations of the Detention Center. You will be responsible for inmate security and movement, ensuring orderly facility operation.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a Class C Georgia driver’s license, and complete the Basic Jail Officer Certification Course with ongoing in-service training requirements.

Qualifications

• Annual in-service training required.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection of life and property at the Detention Center.
• Oversee daily operations of the Detention Center and inmate movements.
• Maintain inmate security and control movements within the facility.

Job description

As a Detention Officer, you will provide protection of life and property, conduct daily operation of the Banks County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, and control inmate security and movement. Opportunities include full and part time employment.

Annual Salary: Starting at $24.77 hourly, $54,100 annually.

• Possess a high school education or equivalent
• Possess a valid Georgia driver’s license (Class C) and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Successfully complete the Basic Jail Officer Certification Course.
• Successfully complete annually required in-service training.
• Hiring preference will be given to Banks County residents.
