Job summary

McDaniel Supply Company Inc. is seeking a Commissary Clerk based in the Charleston County Detention Center, SC, with weekly travel to Dorchester County Detention Center every Friday.

You will manage inmate commissary orders, unload and load trucks, and stock vending machines, while using our software to track issues and run reports. The role requires excellent verbal and written communication, the ability to work under pressure, and basic math for inventory management.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal and external customers.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while delivering great customer service.
• Ability to handle basic math, calculate totals, and manage inventory.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments within established routines.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must have a clear background and be able to pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Pulling inmate commissary orders
• Unloading trucks
• Loading trucks
• Receiving and labeling inbound product
• Putting away received product
• Restocking vending machines designated for staff within the Charleston detention facility
• Making deliveries to inmates within the detention facility
• Traveling to Dorchester County Detention Center every Friday for commissary handouts
• Using MSC’s custom software to track issues and run reports
• Performing related duties as assigned by supervisor
• Maintaining compliance with all company and detention facility policies and procedures regarding safety
