The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Designer in the Road Design Section. This position is responsible for conducting in-depth engineering and analysis, administering contracts, overseeing projects and project design, and may serve as a lead worker. Work is assigned through instruction on specific engineering objectives and direction, and the incumbent determines the best solution based on established engineering guidelines, knowledge, and skills. Completed work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.
Driver's record will be verified. Successful applicants will be required to sign a release form which authorizes the Department to obtain the applicant's permanent driving record. Compliance with Mont. Admin. R. 2.6.201, "State Vehicle Use," and MDT Policy 6.03.001, "State Vehicle Use Policy" are conditions of employment.
