About the Position
The Designer II is an entry‑level contributor focused on strengthening discipline knowledge, advancing modeling capability, and taking greater ownership of coordination and documentation across projects. You’ll apply workflows, tools, and BIM standards with increasing independence while supporting engineers and project teams in delivering coordinated construction documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop independent modeling, drawing updates, and coordination support across Telecom/ICT, Audiovisual, Security, Acoustics, Network, Wi‑Fi, and other technology disciplines.
- Maintain model quality, organization, view templates, linking practices, and other TEECOM BIM and documentation standards.
- Identify coordination risks, perform clash detection, review workflows in Navisworks or ACC, and address straightforward modeling issues.
- Update standards, notes, and documentation; support Designer I team members when appropriate.
- Document design decisions, coordination updates, and project changes within TEECOM tools to support team visibility.
- Participate in project meetings, coordination sessions, and daily huddles; communicate status, risks, and design questions.
- Support early QA, review work for accuracy and clarity, and maintain accurate time and expense entries.
- Assist with site visits, existing condition verification, and contractor submittal reviews under senior supervision.
- Perform targeted research, gather product data, and support early specification or design development efforts.
- Maintain accurate task tracking and design updates across TEECOM tools to support team visibility.
Qualifications & Experience
- BS in Engineering (Electrical preferred), Architecture, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of AEC industry experience with demonstrated proficiency in Revit modeling, drafting, and construction documentation.
- Experience supporting technology system design across Telecom/ICT, Audiovisual, Security, Acoustics, Network, Wi‑Fi, and related disciplines.
- Familiarity with coordinated drawing sets and basic clash detection workflows.
- Strong organizational, communication, coordination skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and/or AutoCAD, Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Asana, and GitHub.
- Basic knowledge of technology systems and introductory engineering calculations; ability to research and evaluate products.
Preferred Certifications
- EIT
- CDT
- Introductory Revit/BIM/drafting certifications
Physical Demands
- Prolonged desk work using computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone.
- Regular reading, writing, and communication in virtual and in‑person settings.
- Occasional travel to client sites for meetings, surveys, or inspections.
- Site walks that may require standing, walking, climbing stairs, and navigating construction or utility areas.
- Field activities that may involve bending, kneeling, or maneuvering in confined spaces.
- Possibly lifting or moving equipment up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment
- Approximately 75% of work is performed remotely or in office.
- Approximately 25% occurs at client sites, including construction environments.
- Construction sites may expose noise, dust, uneven surfaces, variable lighting, and active construction operations.
- Utility rooms may have restricted access and may not fully meet ADA standards; accommodations provided as needed.
- Accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions must be reported immediately to the site superintendent and internally to People Operations.
Compensation
$85,000 - $110,000 a year (range may vary based on role‑related skills, experience, knowledge, and subject‑matter expertise).
