Job summary

Milwaukee Tool in Wisconsin seeks a CAD/Mechanical Design Engineer to help create advanced carpentry and nailing tools. You will develop 3D models, drawings and specifications for parts and assemblies, using Siemens NX on diverse projects.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, collaboration with engineers, testing prototypes, and delivering on schedule. Requires 2+ years of CAD experience, strong communication, and knowledge of manufacturing methods for power tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in designing, drafting, and computermodeling.
• Ability to develop creative design solutions through CAD and mechanicaldesign skills.
• Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD software experience.
• Experience with the methods and materials used to manufacture power tools.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD models using Siemens NX incorporating complex surfacing for various complexity projects.
• Design components such as die castings, plastic molded parts, sheet metal stampings and machined parts.
• Complete analysis,research, and solutionof lowto moderate technical issues.
• ProvideCADguidance and expertise to other Engineering team members.
• Prepare drawings, productBOMsand change notices for release and/or change distribution.
• Own the planning of assigned design work, deliver to plan, and elevate when the plan is off track.
• Perform basicdimensioning and tolerancing calculations of multiple part assemblies where moving parts must not interfere with fixed parts.
• Understand and apply geometric and form tolerance dimensioning.
• Perform testing to analyze prototypes and competitive tools to measure and record data/information for evaluation by Engineers.
• Assemble/disassemble tools and mechanisms to assist with testing.
