Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a CAMS Designer II to develop 2D/3D CAD models using Creo Parametric and related software. You will review and configure designs, work with cross-functional teams, and support manufacturing with accurate design documentation.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD and drafting principles.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD tools ( Creo Parametric, Inventor, Solidworks, Solid Edge ).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, drawings, and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Exposure to Boolean logic, rules-based modeling, or programming concepts.
  • Computer science coursework or programming experience.
  • MS Office, especially Excel formulas.

Responsibilities

Where is the work: Field-based: Work is conducted on-site at customer locations. Work onsite Monday to Friday.

The CAMS Designer II is a design role responsible for creating 2D and 3D designs used in manufacturing customer-specific units. This position uses Creo Parametric and proprietary Trane Technologies software that applies Boolean logic to drive parametric CAD models. The role also includes reviewing work for accuracy, following drafting standards, supporting portions of larger projects, and collaborating with a technical team to deliver high-quality, customer-focused designs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of computer-aided design and drafting principles
  • Basic knowledge of 3D CAD, Inventor, Solidworks, Solid Edge, Creo Parametric
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, drawings, and schematics
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Exposure to Boolean logic, rules-based modeling, or programming concepts
  • Computer science coursework or programming experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel formulas

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $45,400.00 - $92,500.00
