Opportunity

Perkins Eastman Chicago is searching for a talented design-focused Architectural Designer (Architect II) who is ready to engage, learn, and contribute to a vibrant and active studio culture.

This position will provide an opportunity to work on both domestic and international work in the following practice areas: Senior Living, Multi‑family Residential, K‑12, and Higher Education/Science & Tech projects of various size and complexity. The selected individual must possess the ability to react positively to a variety of design priorities, styles and project delivery methods. Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist in Master Planning, Site Planning and Building Design exercises utilizing 3D Modeling and Digital Presentation Packaging.
  • Support the design team on projects from the Pre‑Schematic Phase through Construction Documents.
  • Prepare program and schematic proposals and develop 3D designs in Revit and other 3D modeling software for client review/approval.
  • Assist or prepare presentation materials for client review.
  • Meet with clients and may be asked to present design presentations.
  • Follow a working process set by leadership that ensures the design intent of a project is maintained for the duration of the project.
  • Coordinate the work of design consultants.
  • Follow established standards for project production and review.
  • Have working knowledge of exterior detailing to assist with the preparation of construction drawings and construction detailing to maintain design integrity.
  • Prioritize and manage design time on multiple projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture is required.
  • Minimum of 6 to 12 years experience.
  • Strong communication, graphic organization, technical and written skills.
  • Proficient with design and presentation software such as Revit, Rhino and Affinity Software Package; proficiency in AI design support software is a plus.
  • Proficient with other data management software such as Bluebeam, Word and Excel.
  • LEED Accreditation preferred.
  • License required or on a path to licensure.

Salary Range: $71k to $85k

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographical work location.
