Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP is seeking a Drafter/Designer to produce 3D models and 2D drawings for gas compression packages and related equipment. The role requires proficiency in reading and creating drawings and material lists for gas processing equipment and familiarity with SolidWorks, CadWorx, and AutoCAD.

The candidate should be able to develop for-construction and as-built drawings, create Bills of Materials, and ensure drawings are dimensionally accurate.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, CadWorx, and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of P&ID, plot plans, and process flow diagrams.
  • Experience with as-built and for-construction drawings.
  • Adherence to safety and company procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Read and create drawings and material lists for gas compression and processing equipment.
  • Review design instructions, plot plans, flow diagrams, and supplier information.
  • Produce 3D designs and 2D drawings (P&ID, piping, mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural).
  • Create for-construction and as-built drawing packages with BOMs.
  • Incorporate revisions to produce final as-built drawings with updated documentation.
  • Check drawings dimensionally for conformance to specs.

Summary:
Responsible to produce 3D models and 2D Mechanical (P&ID, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil/Structural) construction drawings related to gas compression packages, and/or gas production equipment capital projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be proficient at reading and creating drawings and material lists associated with natural gas compression and processing equipment.This includes but is not limited to

Proficient with SolidWorks, Cad Worx, and AutoCAD.

Review design instructions, plot plan, flow diagrams, and supplier information.

General 3D design to include mechanical, structural, and pressure vessel design.

Ability to create “for-construction” and “as-built” drawing packages that include P&ID’s, mechanical equipment fabrication drawings, plot plans, and piping isometrics.

Incorporate in-process drawing revision and redlines to create final as-built drawings.

Develop Bills of Material lists to coincide with design drawings and documentation.

Ability to Check Drawings Dimensionally

Must adhere to company policies and procedures

Performs other functions/duties as required.

Required Experience:

Title conferred will be based on candidates’ years of relevant experience.

Knowledge of gas compression equipment and/or gas processing facilities is preferred.

Preferred candidates will be proficient in the use of the following software platforms

Solid Works

CadWorx and AutoCad LTE

Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

Lead Drafter/Designer, 5+ YOE and high school diploma or equivalent

Sr Drafter/Designer, 2+ YOE and high school diploma or equivalent

Drafter/Designer, 0-2 YOE and high school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Must have the ability to develop CAD files and drawings in conformance with project specifications, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practices.

Read and understand and generate system P&IDs related to natural gas compression and processing equipment .

Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.

Self-Starter with good organizational and planning skills.

Must be able to perform tasks with minimal guidance or supervision.

Minimum High School diploma or equivalent

Technical training or associate degree in related field preferred

Working Conditions

Normal office working conditions.

Minimal exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting

Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery.Will require appropriate personal protective equipment
