Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. in Palm Bay, FL seeks a Designer C to contribute to our hardware engineering CAD workflows. You will create and edit part and assembly drawings using Creo MCAD, ensuring accuracy and compliance with program requirements.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with substantial CAD experience; a post-secondary credential and a TS/SCI clearance are preferred. You’ll work in a dynamic defense tech environment supporting mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Current TS or TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with Creo revision 4 or higher to create engineering designs.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Familiarity with Agile PDM.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit accurate and complete piece part/assembly designs and associated drawings utilizing Creo MCAD application.
• Provide CAD support (Creo) throughout the product development process.
• Create and edit parts lists and Bill of Materials utilizing Agile PDM.
• Generate and/or modify product’s models, drawings and documentation.
• Support the control of mechanical digital data files and drawings.
• Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders.

Essential Functions

Performs a wide range of CAD design assignments in support of the hardware engineering organization including the editing of models and/or drawing, notes provided by engineering. Assures design documentation complies with the program requirements, organization’s processes and industry standards. Prepares accurate drawings and schematics with proper tolerances, dimensions and instructions, with oversight from senior designers.

• Create and edit accurate and complete piece part/assembly designs and associated drawings utilizing Creo MCAD application
• Provide CAD support (Creo) throughout the product development process
• Create and edit parts lists and Bill of Materials utilizing Agile PDM
• Generate and/or modify product’s models, drawings and documentation
• Support the control of mechanical digital data files and drawings
• Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders
• Input data and assure hardware structures are accurate in a Product Data Management tool
• Support resolution of problems/issues in CAD design/drawings and provide

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Current TS or TS/SCI clearance
