Job description

Architectural Resources Group (ARG) is an interdisciplinary practice of architects, historians, and conservators dedicated to giving new life to historic and existing places. We work in a wide variety of sectors and building types, including residential, hospitality, national and state parks, cultural and performing arts, higher education, and civic projects. Our design philosophy is rooted in the belief that adapting existing buildings creates sustainable, equitable places that tell stories and enliven communities.

We are seeking a talented and well-rounded Junior Designer to join our San Francisco office, located along the downtown waterfront near the Embarcadero BART station. ARG offers an office-centric hybrid work environment with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week.

What You Will Do

  • Support project teams through all phases of design, documentation, and construction administration
  • Prepare design concepts, presentations, and project documentation
  • Coordinate work with interdisciplinary project teams and consultants
  • Contribute to the preparation of design and construction documents
  • Balance multiple assignments while maintaining quality and responsiveness
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited school of architecture
  • 2+ years of professional experience preferred
  • Interest in historic preservation, adaptive reuse, or existing buildings
  • Strong design, graphic, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop design concepts and prepare project documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and work collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Creative problem solver with a collaborative and positive approach

Salary range: $70,000 to $76,000, commensurate with experience.
