Job summary

Alfred Williams & Company in Nashville is seeking a senior Designer to advance our furniture planning practice. You will lead space planning, develop installation drawings, and coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal teams to produce accurate layouts and proposals.

The role requires CET Designer proficiency, strong attention to detail, and a track record in commercial furniture design. MillerKnoll knowledge is a plus and collaboration is central to our culture.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a four-year program or equivalent work experience with a two-year degree in interior design, preferred.
  • A minimum five-year practical experience in commercial furniture design and planning.
  • Proficiency in CET Designer is required.
  • MillerKnoll product knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Responsibilities

  • Input of furniture layouts and space plans into AutoCAD via CAP/CET with accuracy.
  • Develop color and material presentations, both electronic and physical.
  • Coordinate with vendors to determine pricing and discounts for client proposals.
  • Set up and maintain project files per design and company standards.
  • Field verification and measurement of site conditions.
  • Space planning, typical development, and systems furniture layout.
  • Compile inventory of existing product and record information with minimal assistance.
  • Develop installation drawings per project requirements.
  • Understand Building Codes, ADA, and Electrical/Data requirements.
  • Check drawings and specifications for 100% accuracy.
  • Assist to define project scope, assess customer needs and program design applications.
  • Participate in client interactions and programming sessions.

To further build and develop our furniture planning team, Alfred Williams & Company is looking for a senior Designer. Responsibilities and skillset requirements include:

Personal and Interpersonal Skills

  • Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously
Responsibilities and Technical Skills
  • Skilled and efficient input of furniture layouts and space plans into AutoCAD via CAP and CET
  • Experience with pricing and discounting commercial furniture to produce client proposals
