Job summary

Capitol Cable Communications, Inc. in Missouri is seeking a Senior Estimator to develop accurate cost proposals for large low-voltage projects, including structured cabling, fiber optics, access control and video surveillance.

You will perform site surveys, prepare BOMs, secure pricing from vendors, and manage awarded projects through installation, submitting as-builts and ensuring compliance with codes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience estimating large low-voltage systems including structured cabling, fiber optics, access control and video surveillance.
• RCDD or equivalent accreditation or experience.
• Solid knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, and installation best practices.
• Ability to read blueprints, notes, and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.

Responsibilities

• Perform site surveys to help understand project site and customer solution.
• Develop accurate bill of materials and obtain pricing to provide cabling solutions.
• Acquire project documents, perform take-offs, review specs, estimate materials and labor accurately.
• Price materials with vendors, secure pricing from sub-contractors when applicable, and prepare a complete estimate and scope of work using our software.
• Prepare and type a detailed cost proposal with scope of work.
• Manage awarded projects and coordinate with project foreman throughout the installation.
• Prepare and submit post-installation as-builts and submittals.
