Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking a senior Design Systems Designer to own how our client design systems are built across multiple brands. This is a systems-first, full-time remote role focused on building scalable tokens, variables, and core components that a build pipeline can execute with precision.

You will work across several client brands, ensuring consistency, rigorous architecture, and seamless documentation so developers and automated pipelines can reproduce the system reliably.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing for the web with design systems experience.
• Fluency in Figma variables, component properties, auto layout, and variants.
• Portfolio showing client-to-client variation with consistent rigor.
• Strong English and overlap with US business hours.

Responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes, and semantic naming our pipeline can read predictably.
• Ship core component libraries that hold up across an entire site, not just a homepage.
• Document the system so a developer or an automated pipeline can execute it without questions.

This is a senior, systems-first seat. Not one-off pages, not maintenance. You stand up new systems fast and get them right the first time, across several client brands at once.
