Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Design Researcher II to lead user-centered research across our construction-focused products. You will design and execute multi-faceted studies, collaborate with engineers, industrial designers and product managers, and translate findings into actionable insights that shape direction and features.

Field work, co-creation sessions, and workshops will be a regular part of the role, with 25–40% overnight travel.

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelor degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Business, or Engineering with 3+ years experience or 4-5 years for Bachelor path.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in product development with understanding of innovation and design thinking.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience using qualitative research methods including observation, interviews, co-creation, participatory design, and design sprints.
• 25-40% overnight domestic travel.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute multi-faceted research plans to learn about construction trade and user contexts.
• Build and maintain a network of users to inform discovery research and co-create solutions.
• Plan and facilitate hands-on tool evaluations, team workshops, and analysis sessions.
• Present research findings to key stakeholders through engaging, concise presentations and demos.
• Experiment with new approaches and methodologies to achieve insightful results.
