Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Design & Program Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of Tool Design Engineers, Applications Engineers, and Program Managers in Philipsburg, PA. The manager will mentor engineers, oversee project execution, and uphold ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 standards while delivering high-quality engineering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership or program management in manufacturing.
  • Strong project management experience with cross-functional teams.

Job Title: Design & Program Engineering Manager
Job Description

The Design & Program Engineering Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team, including Tool Design Engineers, Applications Engineers, and Program Managers. This role is responsible for aligning engineering and program execution with strategic business goals, ensuring technical excellence, customer satisfaction, and cross-functional collaboration. The manager will oversee project execution, tooling development, and customer engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team comprising Tool Design Engineers, Applications Engineers, and Program Managers
  • Align engineering and program execution with strategic business objectives
  • Ensure technical excellence and foster customer satisfaction
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to achieve project goals
  • Oversee project execution and tooling development
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions.
  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of multiple engineering programs across various teams and disciplines.
  • Define program scope, goals, deliverables, schedules, and success metrics
  • Oversee tooling design and development, ensuring alignment with APP standards and customer requirements
  • Support applications engineering in translating customer needs into technical solutions and managing pre-/post-sales support
  • Guide program managers in executing customer programs on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Facilitate communication between engineering, manufacturing, and quality
  • Monitor project and tooling progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Drive customer satisfaction through proactive communication and technical excellence
  • Develop and implement engineering policies, standards, and best practices
  • Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on team performance, project status, and strategic initiatives
  • Oversee the creation and management of all new product launch timelines
  • Ensure weekly customer reporting is accurate and sent on time
  • Hire, train, and mentor other engineers and supporting staff
  • Establish policies, procedures, and standards for new product launches
  • Use program management in ERP to help facilitate new product launches
  • Follow the standards of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 International Standards
Essential Skills
  • Project management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SolidWorks, and MiniTab.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload of subordinates to align with company initiatives.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines continuously.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for offering technical direction in engineering areas.
  • Extensive technical knowledge in CAD-based product design and engineering design methods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership or program management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience in project management.
  • Ability to lead technical teams in solving complex problems.
Work Environment

This is a Permanent position based out of Philipsburg, PA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $150000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
