Job summary

Performance Contracting Group is seeking an experienced Design Modeler for its PCI Indianapolis 551 operations based in Carmel, IN. You will develop 3D BIM models, prepare shop drawings with AutoCAD, and coordinate with estimators and operations teams.

Must have 2+ years drafting in glass/glazing, proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, a portfolio, and experience with Bluebeam. Local Indianapolis area preferred; safety sensitive role with competitive pay and ESOP benefits.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• 2+ years of drafting experience, specifically in the glass and glazing industry.
• 2+ years of CNC programming experience.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Portfolio demonstrating work in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Bluebeam or Adobe PDF Software.
• Ability to understand design and document coordination.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Motivated self-starter with initiative and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Job Description

PCI is seeking an experiencedDesign Modelerfor its PCI Indianapolis 551 operations based in Carmel, IN. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

• Attend kick off meetings with Estimating and Operations staff at the beginning of projects to ensure scope, project details, and contract requirements are understood before shop drawings and/or modeling begin.
• Prepare 2D shop drawings for glass and glazing products using AutoCAD.
• Create 3D models of glazing systems utilizing Revit.
• Coordinate PCI scope of work with other trades shop drawings and models.
• Actively participate in project coordination and design meetings.
• Elevate model and document inconsistencies to the attention of the Design Manager and Operations Team to determine what action is to be taken.
• Prepare material orders based on approved shop drawings and structural calculations.
• Attend staff training to enhance staff members’ knowledge and expertise of the standardized software used.
• Create and maintain project-specific content to ensure they are consistently aligned with instructions, guidelines, in-house standards, and the project’s BIM standards.
• Actively engage with Designand Operations Teamto implement best BIM/VDC practices.

Salary range: $59,500 – $80,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.

Basic Requirements:

• 2-year technical degree or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• 2+ years of drafting experience, specifically in the glass and glazing industry.
• 2+ years of CNC programming experience.
• Must possess proficiency with software platforms including Revit and AutoCAD.
• Must be able to present a portfolio demonstrating work in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Bluebeam or Adobe PDF Software.
• Ability to understand design and document coordination.
• Innovative and creatively minded individual looking to improve process, procedure, and construction techniques to provide continued improvement and efficiency to role, work scopes, and our customers.
• Ability to take responsibility for the outcome and results of assigned projects.
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative.
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as durations of independent/isolated/unsupervised environments.

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, Engineering Fields, etc.) preferred.
• Experience with curtain wall and storefront window systems is preferred.
• Unitized curtain wall drafting experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Navisworks, SketchUp, or Logikal is a plus.
• Local to the Indianapolis metro area
