Job summary

EH Group Engineering in Houston, TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design components and assemblies for compact, high power density fuel cell products. You will produce 3D models, drawings, and tolerancing, and collaborate with leaders across simulation, test, electrical and process engineering.

Qualified candidates hold a BSc or MSc in mechanical engineering with 3–5 years of relevant hardware design experience, proficiency in SolidWorks and GD&T, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • BSc/MSc in mechanical engineering is mandatory.
  • 3–5 years of mechanical design experience in a complex hardware engineering environment.
  • Direct experience in fuel cell stacks, electrolyzers, high-voltage battery modules, powertrains, or complex thermal systems.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and in-depth understanding of GD&T.
  • Excellent spoken and written English; French is a plus.

  • Design mechanical components, modules and assemblies for fuel cell stacks and systems

  • Apply design-for-manufacture and design-for-assembly principles
  • Support prototyping, build and validation of designs
  • Work with suppliers on component manufacture and tooling
  • Maintain BOMs, drawings and engineering changes in PLM
  • Collaborate with simulation, test, electrical and process engineering

Key Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical components, modules and assemblies for fuel cell stacks and systems
  • Produce 3D models, detailed drawings and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Apply design-for-manufacture and design-for-assembly principles
  • Support prototyping, build and validation of designs
  • Work with suppliers on component manufacture and tooling
  • Maintain BOMs, drawings and engineering changes in PLM
  • Collaborate with simulation, test, electrical and process engineering
Skills and Experience Required
  • BSc/MSc in mechanical engineering is mandatory
  • Minimum 3–5 years of mechanical design experience in a complex hardware engineering environment, with direct experience in fuel cell stacks, electrolyzers, high-voltage battery modules, powertrains, or complex thermal systems.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD (ex. SolidWorks) and in-depth understanding of GD&T
  • Understanding of DFM/DFA and common manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of sealing, thermofluidic, thermal or structural design is a plus
  • Team player able to work autonomously with internal and external experts
  • Excellent spoken and written English is mandatory, French is a plus
