Turner & Townsend Heery are looking to engage Design Managers specializing in aviation for upcoming opportunities.

Our design managers are responsible for overseeing design and providing the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance for our clients. As a design manager will collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design phase of aviation construction projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to develop comprehensive design plans.
  • Review and approve design documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure all design work complies with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
  • Conduct regular design reviews and audits to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure design requirements are met.
  • Prepare and present design proposals and progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
  • Monitor design budgets and schedules, ensuring projects are completed within allocated resources.
  • Identify and mitigate design‑related risks and issues.
  • Lead and mentor a team of design professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring professional growth and development.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or a field related to construction.
  • Minimum 5‑7 years of relevant experience working on large scale projects and programs.
  • Strong organizational and management skills – ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the broader team.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, and construction project management tools.

The salary range for this full‑time role is $130K‑$175K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
