Job summary

Downtown FabWorks, a leader in scenic and architectural fabrication, seeks a Design Lead to own the design execution from schematic intent through fabrication drawings. You will ensure constructability and timely, high-quality deliverables to the shop, while coordinating with the PM and PL and supporting site surveys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 3–7 years in technical design, drafting or scenic/architectural production environments with independent project responsibility.
• Proficient in producing design packages and client submittals.
• Familiar with design-to-shop handoff processes and coordination with production teams.

Responsibilities

• Join and coordinate as the Design Lead on the Project Team for each project.
• Own complete design package production including 3D models and fabrication drawings.
• Lead internal review cycles, RFIs, and client submittal coordination with consultants and vendors.
• Oversee design-to-shop handoff ensuring clear release stamps and required documents.
• Co-lead site surveys, develop field measurement checklists, and document findings.
• Produce daily departmental progress reports and support junior team members.
• Uphold safety standards and ensure documentation aligns with company policy.
