Job summary

SRF Consulting Group, Inc. seeks a Civil Engineer - Design Lead (Urban Design/Municipal) to join our Urban Mobility & Infrastructure group in Minneapolis, MN.

In this role you will manage projects balancing pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle priorities, lead design tasks, and interact with clients and agencies to advance urban roadway and municipal infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited school.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Demonstrated strong skills in their area of expertise with ability to complete core responsibilities.
• Microsoft Office suite experience.
• Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley 3D design tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work under general supervision.
• Manage and coordinate project tasks with other groups/disciplines, including monitoring of project budgets.
• Lead design tasks for projects.
• Exhibit quality day-to-day work in line with SRF’s quality management plan.
• Develop project documents including reports, studies, construction contract documents, and permit applications.
• Interact with clients, regulatory agencies, and the public as necessary for project completion.
• Assist in development of proposals.
• Work on tasks and projects that require increased ingenuity and problem-solving skills.
• Serve as trusted technical resource and demonstrate sound judgement.
• Review and sign off on plans, drawings, specifications, plats, reports, and other documents.
• Serve in one or more roles: manage discipline tasks, client contact, or lead small projects under supervision.

We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer - Design Lead (Urban Design/Municipal) to join our growing Urban Mobility & Infrastructure group in our Minneapolis, MN, St. Paul, MN or Chicago, IL office. As a Design Lead, you will be exposed to a wide variety of innovative and diverse projects, including the management of projects balancing pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle priorities; urban roadway projects; municipal infrastructure projects; and pedestrian / bicycle focused improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

• Work under general supervision.

• Lead small single-discipline focused projects and serve as a point of contact for external client under the supervision of Level V or higher staff.
• Demonstrate leadership amongst their peers at a group level.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated strong skills in their area of expertise and have prior related and successful work experience with a demonstrated ability to complete the core responsibilities of the position.

Salary Range: $105,000 - $120,000

Compensation is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, job location, internal equity, market analysis, and specific qualifications relevant to the role.
