Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an Experienced Electrical Design Engineer for semiconductor equipment electrical design, cable engineering, and control systems. You will design, test, and document electrical assemblies, PDUs, and control boxes, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with SEMI standards.

You will work on Beckhoff EtherCAT automation, PLC programming knowledge, and signal integrity solutions, contributing to robust, safe, and scalable tool designs in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Experienced in electrical design for semiconductor equipment and cable engineering.
• Experience applying SEMI standards (SEMI S2/S8/S47) and safety principles.
• Strong collaboration with mechanical, software, manufacturing and systems teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cable and wiring drawings using AutoCAD.
• Create electrical work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
• Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) in SAP and coordinate product releases.
• Design, assemble, and test power distribution units (PDUs) and control boxes.
• Select connectors and design interconnect schemes for semiconductor tools.
• Diagnose and resolve wiring, signal integrity, and field issues on tools.

Professional Summary

Experienced Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in semiconductor equipment electrical design, cable engineering, control systems, product development, and compliance. Skilled in cross-functional collaboration, troubleshooting, documentation, and industrial automation technologies

Key Responsibilities & Expertise

• Develop detailed cable and wiring drawings using AutoCAD.
• Create electrical work instructions and manufacturing documentation for semiconductor equipment.
• Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and product release activities in SAP.
• Design, build, and validate signal, communication, and power cable assemblies.
• Extensive knowledge of industrial connectors from major manufacturers and connector selection.
• Design, assemble, and test Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and electrical control boxes.
• Apply electrical safety principles in power distribution and power supply design.
• Ensure compliance with SEMI S2, SEMI S8, and SEMI F47 standards.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical wiring, signal integrity, and field issues on semiconductor tools.
• Strong understanding of sensors, actuators, solenoids, pneumatic systems, motors, motor controllers, and ADAM I/O modules.
• Design and integrate Beckhoff EtherCAT-based automation systems and possess working knowledge of Beckhoff PLC programming.
• Knowledge of relays, timing relays, contactors, GFCIs, industrial power supplies, cable sizing, wiring practices, and AWG calculations.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams to deliver complete products.
