Job summary

Siena Group, a growing medical device packaging thermoformer, is seeking a Design Engineering Leader. This is a working leadership role combining hands-on design for new parts with guiding a small team of Design Engineers on cross-functional projects.

You will engage with customers during intake conversations, part reviews, trials, and collaborate with tooling, engineering, and manufacturing. This onsite Chicagoland role requires a strong track record in thermoformed packaging design and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of thermoformed packaging design.
• 5+ years in a highly regulated pharma/medical device environment.
• Proven history of leading a team.
• Strong communication across internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of Design Engineers and drive design for new parts.
• Work with customers on intake conversations, part reviews, and trials.

A growing thin gauge medical device packaging thermoformer is looking for aDesign Engineering Leader. This is a ‘working leader,’ combining both your design skills for new part design and leading a small team of Design Engineers. The team is one of several business units in a much larger organization, effectively functioning as a smaller unit with nimbleness, flatness, a collaborative environment, and a great bunch of people… with the resources that comes their parent company.

This is not a desk job, focused solely on design behind a screen. You will work with customers for intake conversations, part reviews, trials runs, and more; work cross-functionally with tooling, engineering, and manufacturing; and spend time on floor to ensure manufacturability.

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred in a technical field
• Must have at least 5 years of thermoformed packaging design
• Must have at least 5 years working in a highly regulated environment (pharma or medical device)
• Must have proven history of leading a team
• Proven ability to communicate effectively across a variety of internal and external teams

This is an onsite role (Chicagoland region) given the nature of the team dynamics.

Compensation $140,000.00 – $160,000.00
