Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical drafting principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with APQP tools (DFMEA, DFM/DFA, Control Plans, PPAP).
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics or suspension theory (or similar) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create drawings that comply with company standards.
  • Revise existing design models as directed.
  • Assist in configuration and documentation of designs; develop tooling; create product support literature.
  • Conduct basic/ intermediate analytical and simulation methods; report results.
  • Perform testing planning, setup, data collection and reporting.
  • Use results to guide design decisions and project direction.
  • Assist in managing project timelines and APQP requirements.
  • Communicate with vendors on project tasks.
  • Support OEM product development as directed.

Requirements- Assist
  • Create drawings that comply with company standards.
  • Revise existing design models as directed.
  • Assist the configuration and documentation of existing designs, development of production tooling, creation of product support literature, development of conceptual designs. design and documentation.
  • Perform, report and draw design conclusions on various basic and intermediate analytical and simulation methods.
  • Perform intermediate testing functions such as planning, setup, data collection, and reporting.
  • Use test results to generate conclusions and provide design direction.
  • Assist in managing project timelines and various APQP requirements as directed.
  • Evaluates impact on potential changes.
  • Complete change management tasks as assigned.
  • Correspond with vendors on project tasks.
  • Assist in managing technical aspects of vendor product quality issues.
  • Support OEM product development projects as directed.
  • Basic understanding of Six Sigma tools and techniques including but not limited to QFD, Boundary Diagrams, DVP&R, various statistical methodologies.
  • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical drafting principles, mechanical engineering principles, and manufacturing processes.
  • Personal & Project time management
  • Intermediate knowledge of APQP product development process including but not limited to DFMEA, DFM/DFA, Control Plans, special characteristics and PPAP's.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle dynamics and suspension theory and practice (or comparable for non-suspension products).
  • Must show an ability to learn and apply a variety of software packages as required, including, but not limited to Creo, Windchill, Ansys, ERP, and Matlab /Simulink.
