Job summary

Oatey is hosting a 12-week summer internship in Shakopee, MN, offering students meaningful projects, mentorship, and exposure to leadership. You will work on design engineering tasks, gain hands-on experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and GD&T, and have opportunities to network with industry leaders.

The internship emphasizes development, feedback, and potential post-graduation opportunities, with a collaborative, inclusive team environment and a track record of advancing interns to full-time

Qualifications

• Experience in SolidWorks creating parts, assemblies and drawings.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
• Two or more years of manufacturing work experience.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD models of parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Create production drawings using SolidWorks with ISO/ASME standards.
• Convert AutoCAD drawings to SolidWorks format.
• Create CAD models and sketches for conceptual designs.
• Communicate drawing updates to required departments.

What we’re looking for…

The Oatey Intern Experience supports our growing organization by attracting talented students to develop them into future leaders. It is unique with one‑on‑one mentorship, developmental feedback and coaching, lunch series, engaging networking events and weekly forums. You will work closely with experts to develop your skills and gain valuable insight in your chosen career field. Additionally, you will have exposure to all leadership levels of Oatey. Design Engineering Intern Position Summary

• Create CAD models of parts and assemblies using SolidWorks and industry standard practices.
• Create production drawings using SolidWorks and geometrical dimensioning industry standards such as ISO and ASME.
• Modify and/or convert AutoCad drawings into SolidWorks files.
• Create CAD models and sketches for conceptual designs.
• Distribute and communicate drawing update information to required departments.

What you’ll need to be successful…

• Experience in SolidWorks software in creating parts, assemblies and drawing.
• Working knowledge of office tools such as Word & Excel.
• In-depth emotional intelligence: behavioral maturity, demonstrated trust and integrity, high ethical standards, interpersonal competence.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate ability to work on multiple tasks while generating results.
• Exercise discretion and good judgment.

Experience that will set you apart….

• Proficient in Solidworks
• R&D exposure
• Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Two plus (2+) years of work manufacturing experience.
