Re:Build Manufacturing in Rochester, NY seeks a Wire Harness Design Engineer to join our on-site team. You will gather design requirements from clients, create detailed harness designs with Cadonix Arcadia, and ensure compatibility with industry standards and client specs.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Electrical or electro-mechanical Engineering with 2–3 years of harness experience. You will collaborate across engineering and manufacturing to deliver robust, manufacturable designs on schedule.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical or electro mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in wire harness design.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical).
  • Strong understanding of electrical first-principles, wire routing, and harness assembly.
  • Familiarity with UL, IPC, SAE standards related to automotive.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to gather and understand design requirements for wire harnesses.
  • Review and finalize any missing design inputs and specifications.
  • Create wire harness designs and documentation using Cadonix Arcadia.
  • Design mechanical routing and retention of harnesses using SolidWorks.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards and client specs.
  • Support manufacturing during production phases.
  • Lead design reviews and incorporate feedback for reliability and cost-efficiency.
  • Manage Cadonix Arcadia part database and user access.

Our senior team of electronics, software, and mechanical engineers are fluent in a broad range of applications including fuel cell control and battery management systems, precision agriculture, medical devices, automotive and transportation components, and imaging systems with machine vision and AI processing integration.

The Re:Build AppliedLogix Team provides design expertise for all facets of modern digital product development - with custom analog and digital embedded electronics; VHDL and Verilog targeting FPGAs, embedded software on bare-metal, RTOS or Linux; full-stack application development (Linux and Windows). Our mechanical design capabilities include the packaging of embedded systems, tooling design, and manufacturing process development.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a talented entry level Wire Harness Design Engineer with knowledge of wire harness design principles to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our design services business, collaborating closely with clients to understand their requirements and developing comprehensive wire harness design packages ready for manufacturing.

This is an on-site opportunity based at the Re:Build AppliedLogix development center in Rochester, NY.

What you get to do!

  • Collaborate with clients to gather and understand design requirements for wire harnesses.
  • Review and finalize any missing design inputs, ensuring all specifications are accurately captured.
  • Utilize industry-leading Cadonix Arcadia software tools to create detailed wire harness designs and documentation.
  • Design mechanical routing and retention of harnesses using solidworks.
  • Ensure that every design complies with the relevant industry standards and client specifications.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to provide necessary support during the production phase.
  • Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback to optimize designs for functional performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Manage the Cadonix Arcadia part database, including part creation and quality control of part data.
  • Manage team access and user permissions within the Cadonix Arcadia software.
  • Maintain thorough documentation throughout the design process.
  • Work in a team environment to develop and refine internal processes to improve design quality.

What you will bring to the team

  • BS degree in Electrical or electro mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in wire harness design.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical).
  • Strong understanding of electrical first-principles, wire routing, and wire harness assembly techniques.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., UL, IPC, SAE) related to the Automotive industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality designs on schedule.

The base salary range for this position is $74,000 – $111,000 per year. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.
