Job summary

PD Instore is seeking a Design Engineer to join the engineering team in Minneapolis, MN. The role focuses on design concept development, producing production-ready drawings, and aligning with customer needs and PD production capabilities.

The candidate will work with SolidWorks, SketchUp, and the Adobe suite to finalize designs and collaborate with engineering, production and vendors to verify build strategies.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational, research and analytical skills.
• Mechanical intuition, creative problem solving, spatial reasoning, and attention to detail.
• Flexible design skills: assembly, manufacturability, tolerance analysis, rapid prototyping, high-volume manufacturing, technology integration.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and reviews sales process docs, sketches, renderings, design decks, customer drawings, specs and estimates to understand expectations.
• Coordinates with project management, sales and customer reps to define design intent.
• Develops build strategy concepts that fit project parameters.
• Uses SketchUp, SolidWorks, Adobe Suite to convey design concepts to customers.
