Job summary

Buoyancy Consultants & Engineering seeks a Design Engineer with 2–4 years of experience in ship outfitting piping design. You will create 3D models and detailed drawings using ShipConstructor or AVEVA Marine, coordinate with clients, and study PFDs/P&IDs for procurement specs.

You should be adept at isometrics, weight calculations, BOMs, and vendor document review. Willingness to relocate to Goa domestically or internationally is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering with piping PG is required.
• 2–4 years total experience in ship outfitting or related piping design.
• Hands-on with 3D ship design software (ShipConstructor or AVEVA Marine).
• Experience in detailed or basic design for piping outfitting on ships/yards.

Responsibilities

• Create detail 3D models and drawings using ship design software.
• Develop piping related 3D models for outfitting and isometrics.
• Study PFDs and P&IDs, procurement specs, and material data.
• Prepare BOM and weight calculations, pipe supports drawings.
• Review vendor drawings, datasheets and calculations.
• Willing to relocate to client site domestically or internationally.

Job description

As a Design Engineer, you will have to work in close coordination with the design team and client. Your Role and Responsibilities will be:

• Creating detail design 3D model and related drawings using Ship Design software like Ship Constructor or equivalent.
• Understanding of detailed production design for Piping related outfitting including 3D model.
• Understanding and study of PFD, P&ID's, procurement specification etc.
• Technical knowledge of preparation of isometrics, arrangement, 3D model for basic, detail and production stages for marine / offshore platforms etc.
• Good understanding and knowledge of international piping standards, Piping components and material etc for new building & retrofit projects for Shipbuilding & Offshore Industry.
• Conversant with the Engineering Standards such as API, DIN, ASME, BS / EN etc
• Reading and understanding the P&IDs, Piping material specification and construction standard.
• Preparation of bill of materials and weight calculations.
• Understanding of Pipe support fabrication drawing, Piping Isometric sketches, Layout Drawings.
• Review of vendor's documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations.
• Willing to re-locate on client site either domestic or International on short notice.
• Any other associated task or responsibilities assigned from time to time by the organization

Job Requirements:

• You are a Diploma or Graduate in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with a Post Graduate qualification in Piping from a recognized institute and have a total work experience of 2-4 years.
• You must have hands-on experience with 3D ship design software such as ShipConstructor, AVEVA Marine, or similar tools.
• You have worked on detail or basic design projects in area of Ship Outfitting (Piping) design or with shipyard experience.
• You have good communication skills and enjoy helping customers.
• You have minute attention to detail and seek perfection in your work.
• You will be willing to continue to develop your technical knowledge and skills.
• You are ready to serve minimum service commitment of 1 years in our company.
• You are ready to relocate to Goa location.
