Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Design Engineer - Mechanical to support Stryker Medical’s Acute Care Business Unit in Portage, MI. This on-site role focuses on product and sustaining engineering, collaborating with manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and marketing teams to drive design changes for medical devices.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, has up to 2 years of experience, and is proficient with CAD/CAE tools (Creo preferred).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 0–2 years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical engineering practices, design principles, CAD/CAE tools (Creo preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, modifies, and verifies changes to mechanical components for medical devices.
  • Support production, quality improvements, and line extensions with root cause analysis and solution identification.
  • Create and refine Design History File and Device Master Record.
  • Follow R&D procedures including design controls and risk management.
  • Assist prototyping and bench testing.
