Job summary

Current Lighting is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Co‑Op to support new and existing product designs by creating 3D CAD models and drawings, running tests and analyses, and maintaining engineering and certification documentation. You will collaborate with Product Management, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Marketing, and the Certification Lab.

The role involves designing products, preparing ECNs, evaluating performance, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications

• Support new and existing product designs by creating 3D CAD models/drawings.
• Run tests and technical analysis to validate designs.
• Complete ECNs and maintain accurate engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Certification Lab.

Responsibilities

• Develop design solutions to enhance product integrity and maintain high-quality standards.
• Prepare and finalize ECNs to release designs and related docs to manufacturing facilities.
• Evaluate product performance through detailed testing and technical analysis.
• Recommend and implement engineering changes to ensure all products meet specs and quality standards.
• Design new products and extensions based on detailed specifications.
• Create and complete support documentation required for product certifications.
• Manage all engineering product documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Proficiency with CAD tools for 3D modeling and design documentation.

Compensation

The hourly rate is $20.00-23.00
