Job summary

SJE Inc. seeks a Design Engineer in Ashland, Ohio, to design custom control panels ensuring quality and profitability. The candidate will create schematics using AutoCAD Electrical and support production with troubleshooting tasks. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and experience in industrial control panel design are preferred.

Qualifications

• Designing industrial control panels or related electrical systems.
• Using AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software.
• Reading and developing electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Designing and engineering custom panels that meet customer specifications.
• Creating panel schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Supporting production and QA testing by troubleshooting.

Skills

Experience designing industrial control panels or related electrical systems

Experience using AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software

Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical schematics and panel layouts

Working knowledge of bill of material development and component selection

Familiarity with UL, NEC, and NFPA requirements related to industrial control panels

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
