Diversified in the United States seeks a Design Engineer to support Project Engineering Electronic Security Systems, from sales concept to design development through construction support. You will work with Senior Design Engineers, mentor others, and contribute to client design projects using AutoCAD, BIM, and modern workflow tools within a global resource network.

This role emphasizes delivering security solutions, estimating projects, BOMs, and drawings while building long-term client

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Associates degree required and/or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM and MS Office 365
• Certifications or training with Milestone and Lenel preferred
• Certifications or training with Genetec, Avigilon and S2 preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Other relevant certifications may be required or preferred based on the technology focus of the position.

How You'll Contribute:

The Design Engineer (DE) is a member of the Project Engineering Electronic Security Systems (ESS) team and a supporting contributor to the support of client design projects. The DE reports directly to the Senior Manager for Project Engineering. The DE will provide support through the design project life cycle from sales concept to design development, construction drawings to construction administration support. As a technical resource on a project team, you will be instrumental in the determination and execution of client and system requirements and will collaborate with support teams to bring your design to life. Through our groundbreaking workflow, you'll have access to incredible technology and tools to help you articulate and deliver your design while being supported by global resources.

The DE will be supported and mentored by Senior Design Engineers, and will maintain both primary and supportive roles on complex ESS projects through direction of the DEM.

What You'll Do:

• Contributor for complex engagements and works directly with clients and the Design Engineering team to develop specifications, designs, budgets, timelines and manage expectations.

• Conceptualize system designs and determine system requirements

• Provide technical expertise and coordination information to support the architecture, installation and planning of electronic security solutions

• Develop ESS project estimates and proposals

• Develop the Bill of Materials (BOM) and supporting documentation

• Develop detailed 30%, 60%, 90% and IFC drawings.

• Research, identify, and recommend technology options for clients.

• DE may have client interaction and contribute to the P and L performance.

• Project lifecycle is important and learning the standards our clients are comfortable with is just as important as selling new technology and solutions where they fit. The position bears the responsibility to develop long lasting client partnerships and work with team members to maintain the account on all levels.

• Maintains expertise in the industry through ongoing review of trade publications, participation in industry trade shows, seminars and educational forums. May author articles and/or analyze trends.

• Provides direction and counsel to junior personnel in engineering projects and guides issue resolution.

• Attend appropriate manufacturer trainings, attend or lead lunch and learns and continue online education.

What You’ll Bring:

Education & Certifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Associates degree required and/or equivalent experience.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in technical systems designing
• Ability to get a government issued Top Secret Clearance (US-based only)
• A clear understanding of project phases Program, Conceptualization, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction and Commissioning.
• A thorough, demonstrable understanding of the construction process, installation and integration as well as architectural and construction drawings and specifications.
