ASSA ABLOY in Monroe, NC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and support configurable automatic door products from concept through production release.
The role involves creating 3D models, drawings, and BOMs, building and testing prototypes, and validating performance. Collaboration with manufacturing, sourcing, and product management is essential for successful product launches.
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and support innovative, highly configurable automatic door solutions from concept through production release. In this role, you will be responsible for designing new products and product enhancements, creating prototypes, validating performance, and supporting manufacturing implementation.
Working both independently and within a collaborative engineering team, you will translate business and customer needs into practical, manufacturable solutions that deliver value to installers, end users, and manufacturing operations. Success in this role requires strong mechanical design expertise, hands‑on problem‑solving skills, and the ability to drive projects from initial concept through commercialization.
Successful candidates consistently deliver high‑quality designs that are released on schedule, meet performance and cost objectives, and are supported by thorough documentation and validation. Designs transition smoothly into production, minimize manufacturing disruption, and provide long‑term value through reliable performance and effective sustaining engineering support.
