Reports to: Design Manager
The Design Engineer is responsible for developing accurate, manufacturable racking system designs that meet customer requirements while optimizing cost, safety, and production efficiency. This role owns the creation and release of 2D drawings, 3D models, and bills of material, ensuring alignment with engineering standards and shop capabilities. The Design Engineer works cross-functionally with project management, manufacturing, and installation teams to deliver high-quality, custom storage solutions.
This role is based in an office setting, with the majority of work conducted at a desk/computer using design software. Regular collaboration on the production floor is required to review designs and ensure alignment with manufacturing processes. Travel (<10%) may be required for customer meetings or project site visits.
This position predominantly involves sitting for extended periods while working at a computer. Some tasks may require walking or standing on the production floor to review equipment or project builds. Good manual dexterity and coordination are required for design work. The role does not involve frequent physical activity or heavy lifting.
