Job summary

Job description

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) has an immediate opening at its Dayton, Ohio office for a Design Engineer to support its industrial mixing equipment product lines. The Dayton office is the design center for NOV’s Chemineer™ rotating mixers and Prochem™ belt driven mixers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design and detailing of mixing products with emphasis on customer needs, quality, budget, safety and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Interpreting customer supplied drawings to define customer needs
  • Performing calculations to ensure designs are of the highest quality and longest life
  • Creating parts, assemblies and drawings using Solidworks 3D CAD software
  • Creating part numbers and bills of material in Teamcenter product lifecycle management software
  • Working with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to ensure designs are in line with factory capabilities and core competencies
  • Providing engineering support to machinists and assemblers on the shop floor
  • Executing engineering changes to legacy products
  • Domestic and international travel may be required
Qualifications And Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Experience with the selection and implementation of power transmission components in machine design
  • Experience designing industrial machinery (rotating equipment a plus)
  • Proficiency using Solidworks 3D CAD software
  • Familiarity with EPDM Product Data Management software
  • A working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience creating part numbers and bills of material
