We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our growing team and help deliver impactful infrastructure projects in Dayton, Ohio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
  • 3 to 10 years of engineering design experience in civil infrastructure, transportation, site development, or water/wastewater projects.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure, preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other applicable analysis or modeling tools.
  • Working knowledge of applicable engineering codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience preparing construction documents, technical specifications, and permit-related documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to perform periodic field work, site visits, and inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering designs, plans, specifications, and construction documents for infrastructure, site development, water/wastewater, and transportation projects.
  • Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and modeling to support design decisions, including grading and drainage design, hydraulic modeling, and utility design.
  • Prepare construction drawings and technical documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams across civil, structural, environmental, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
  • Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • Assist with technical reports, engineering studies, permits, and supporting documentation.
  • Support project managers with planning, scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and tracking.
  • Conduct field investigations, site visits, and data collection to support development and validate conditions.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address technical questions and resolve challenges.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor submittals for conformance with design intent.
  • Identify innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions that add value for clients.
  • Maintain project records and follow quality control procedures.

We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our growing team and help deliver impactful infrastructure projects that improve the communities we serve.


This opportunity is ideal for an engineer with 3 to 10 years of experience who is looking to expand their technical expertise, take on additional project responsibilities, and contribute to meaningful civil infrastructure projects. You will work alongside experienced engineering professionals while gaining exposure to project design, client service, and project delivery. Candidates with experience in site/civil engineering, transportation, water/wastewater, or utility infrastructure are encouraged to apply.


Your Primary Responsibilities


  • Develop engineering designs, plans, specifications, and construction documents for infrastructure, site development, water/wastewater, and transportation projects.

  • Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and modeling to support design decisions, including grading and drainage design, hydraulic modeling, and utility design.

What you'll need


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • 3 to 10 years of engineering design experience in civil infrastructure, transportation, site development, or water/wastewater projects.

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain licensure, preferred.
