Job summary

Soap Creek Resources is seeking a Design Engineer to focus on designing and redesigning feed mixers for livestock using Creo. You will work with product management, sales, and manufacturing to develop designs that meet customer needs, cost constraints, and safety standards.

This role requires 1+ year in agricultural or heavy equipment design and strong Creo 3D CAD skills. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering, knowledge of metal fabrication, and a farm

Qualifications

• BS in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 1+ year of experience designing agricultural or heavy mobile equipment.
• Strong 3D CAD skills using Creo.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining, and welding is helpful.
• A farm background would be wonderful.

Responsibilities

• Design or redesign feed mixers for livestock on a project basis using Creo.
• Develop and evaluate product designs based on customer needs, manufacturability, cost, and safety.
• Define design specifications with cross-functional teams (product management, sales, manufacturing).
• Develop test plans and direct testing of the design.
• Set product quality and tolerance specs for designs.
• Select hydraulic, power transmission, and structural components.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to develop tooling and processes.
• Grow knowledge of company products by attending trade shows and monitoring competitors.

What you will be doing:

• Focus on a project basis designing or redesigning feed mixers for livestock using Creo.
• Develop and evaluate product designs based on customer needs, manufacturability, cost, and safety.
• Develop design specifications in collaboration with product management, sales and marketing, manufacturing, product development teams, product/applications testing, and customers for projects assigned
• Develop test plans and direct testing of the design with test personnel.
• Set product quality and tolerance specifications for designs.
• Design and/or select hydraulic, power transmission, and structural components.
• Work with manufacturing to develop tooling and new manufacturing processes as assigned.
• Develop a high level of knowledge of company’s products by attending trade shows, initiating customer contacts, understanding customer service requirements, and monitoring competitors.
• Keep abreast of new products, technologies, and competitive equipment in the industry and communicate information to company personnel.
