Job summary

Sun Recruiting is seeking a Design Drafter II for our Cresco, IA manufacturing team. You will create CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation to support trailer design, customization, and product development.

You will collaborate with Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Quality to drive improvements in manufacturability, quality, and cost while maintaining scheduling and documentation accuracy. A Lean mindset and ability to work independently are essential.

Responsibilities

The Design Drafter will support trailer manufacturing through CAD design, engineering documentation, customization, and product development while helping maintain high standards for quality, cost, delivery, and safety.

Duties:

• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation.
• Support trailer design, customization, and product development activities.
• Participate in design reviews and engineering change processes.
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Quality teams to support successful product development and manufacturing.
• Drive improvements in manufacturability, quality, and cost.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
