Job summary

Holder Construction Group in Dallas, TX is seeking a Design Coordinator to join our PDS team. This full-time, in-person role focuses on coordinating design and construction across large-scale commercial projects, reviewing drawings, and ensuring design quality.

You will mentor junior associates, interpret contract documents, and collaborate across teams to manage design milestones (SD, DD, CD) and risk. A Bachelor's in design/construction and 5+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related design/construction field.
• Experience managing complex, large-scale commercial projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate integration between design and construction teams to optimize project outcomes.
• Manage and coordinate the design process for complex, large-scale commercial projects.
• Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications across all CSI divisions.
• Conduct cross-discipline drawing coordination and design quality reviews.
• Assess design document status by phase (SD, DD, CD) and communicate expectations.
• Identify, track, and address challenges during design and construction phases.
• Contribute constructability and technical expertise to design evolution.
• Understand risks and roles associated with various project delivery methods.
• Interpret contract documents and agreements.
• Coach and mentor junior associates.
• Communicate effectively and manage time efficiently in a highly collaborative environment.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
