Job summary

Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is seeking a Design Coordinator 2 to evaluate and apply architectural techniques while ensuring high-quality design execution. You will perform a range of architectural assignments under the direction of a Project Architect or Manager.

Preferred qualifications include a professional degree in architecture and experience with sustainable design. Strong technical skills in Revit, AutoCAD, and other software are essential for this role. This full-time position is located in New York City and supports a culture of continuous growth and development.

Qualifications

Job description

Design Coordinator 2 (Transit Architecture) – (193984)

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, select and apply architectural techniques, procedures and modifications to architectural construction documents
  • Perform architectural assignments with only general instruction from the Project Architect or Project Manager regarding the expected results
  • Exhibit strong design skills on daily tasks, ensuring high quality and visually compelling execution
  • May work directly with owners/clients to select and recommend procedures
  • Write specifications covering architectural matters and perform code reviews
  • Assist Project Architects, other Architectural Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed, and take responsibility for work in all phases of the architectural process
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • Experience in transportation, infrastructure, healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
  • Strong technical skills with knowledge in Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and other related software. Open Buildings is a plus.
  • Preference given to candidates local to the NYC‑Metro Area
Required Qualifications
