Job summary

Perini Management Services, Inc., a Tutor Perini Company, seeks a Project Engineer to join our design-build project team in Kodiak, AK. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will support design, planning, and field coordination on a site-based assignment.

Required are a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field and 2+ years of project engineering experience. Federal and design-build project experience are preferred; proficiency with Primavera P6,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• 2+ years of project engineering experience.
• Experience with Federal Projects preferred.
• Experience with Design-Build Construction projects preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer literacy.
• Willing to travel and relocate. Initial project location will be in Kodiak Alaska.
• PE, EIT, and/or other relevant Certifications/Licenses Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project engineering activities comply with contract requirements and support overall construction schedule.
• Review Phased Design Submissions for RFP Compliance, Constructability, Consistency with Subcontractor Proposals.
• Provide technical support for construction effort including participation in construction planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of design conflicts; constructability reviews, review of product data submittals.
• Represent company, project and/or department during A/E, client and project management meetings, including keeping and distributing meeting minutes.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers throughout all phases of construction, including pre-construction/design phases.
• Assist in developing project budgets, timelines, and procurement plans.
• Review and manage design documents for constructability and distribution to client & subcontractors.
• Assist with developing and maintaining the project schedule, including monthly updates, and progress tracking.
• Process change orders and manage scope changes between the client, subcontractors, and designers.
• Assist in securing vendors and subcontractors.
• Monitor costs and assist with budget management.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
• Coordinate with the owner and security officers for base access and ensure proper clearance.
• Support and oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure alignment with plans and specifications.
• Assist in monitoring worksite safety and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Assist in the coordination of subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials and services
• Documenting and Coordinating meetings, tracking actions, and decisions.
• Manage submittals and RFIs keep up to date logs
• Support QC inspections and ensure project quality standards are maintained
